In a study published in the Public Library of Science Medicine Journal, Harvard researchers concluded that a deficiency in Omega-3 fats is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. On a positive note, fish oil supplements, a convenient source of omega-3’s, were found to dramatically reduce allergies among infants when mothers began taking the supplements during the 25th week of pregnancy and continued while breastfeeding. For people of every age, benefits of fish oil include heart and brain health, improved blood sugar control, and reduced pain and inflammation.

The body’s aging process can be compared to rusting, which in this case happens from the inside out. Rusting is a result of cumulative free radical damage. Free radicals are compounds that are unstable and can damage the body’s cells if left unchecked. Free radicals come from our normal metabolism and our environment – for example exposure to sun, x-rays, cigarette smoke, saturated fats, alcohol, ozone, automobile exhaust, heavy metals and many other sources. If we don’t do something about neutralizing free radicals the aging process can be accelerated as these compounds do damage to the bodies cells. Conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and many of the health issues of aging are all linked back to free radical damage. In order to help neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals we need to take antioxidants. Antioxidant combination formulas are a great source of antioxidants as well as greens foods and super fruits such as acai and pomegranate. We recommend using a whole food based multi like ANS Vita Greens as well.

10 million Americans are estimated to have osteoporosis. Women are four times more likely to develop this condition than men. 1 out of every 2 women and 1 in 8 men will suffer from an osteoporosis-related break in their lifetime. It takes much more than calcium to have healthy bones. Using just a calcium and vitamin D supplement won’t do the trick. We now know that other nutrients such as magnesium, vitamin k2, silica, vanadium, strontium and trace minerals play a huge roll in bone health and strength. Combine this with proper diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes and you should see improvements in your bone health.

Try and reduce the stress on your immune system such as exposure to foods that can trigger your allergy symptoms. Get tested to find out what you might be highly sensitive to, and then remove it from your diet. Top trigger foods are gluten, eggs, dairy and soy. Dietary supplements like butterbur, nettle, horseradish, eyebright, and bromelain can all help reduce your stuffy and runny nose issues.

It can certainly help. Replacing some carbohydrates and fats with lean protein increases metabolic rates because the human body burns more calories breaking down protein than other types of food. Most people consume 12 to 15 percent of their total energy intake from protein. If protein calories are increased research has shown a metabolism boost. When people eat more protein, they tend to back off from some very refined carbohydrates.
Include protein for Breakfast for more Energy
If you breakfast consists of yogurt, cereal, or simply coffee, you may need a protein boost to avoid energy slumps, cravings, and overeating later in the day.

Experts estimate that as many as half of all adults fall short when it comes to vitamin D. Too little vitamin D puts bone health at risk, it also increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes, according to new research published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Many experts contend that the recommended 200IU per day dosage of vitamin D is too low and suggest taking a minimum of 1,000IU per day. Depending on the amount of sunshine in the area where you live-and your exposure to it-you may require more.

If you’re anything like me you want the absolute best of everything. When it comes to exercise you want the best facilities and the best training techniques and, of course, the best supplements to promote recovery. Let’s say you’ve got the first two covered and as an avid gym goer you use protein as your foundation supplement. There are many different kinds of protein on the market including; casein, whey, egg, soy and even hemp protein! By now I’m sure you’ve figured out that you should be using whey protein due to its absorbability, high BCAA content, mixability and better flavoring. But did you know there is more than one type of whey? From poorest quality to purest, this list includes: whey concentrate, whey isolate, micro filtered ion exchange whey isolate, and hydrolyzed whey isolate. Ion exchange whey is of the purest quality and hydrolyzed whey is a form of ion exchange whey broken down for enhanced absorption. Although these are the absolute best types of whey they are not cheap to manufacture and can be a costly finished product. The people that use Isopure or VP2 know what I’m talking about. I’ve seen Isopure at $52 for a 3lb and VP2 at $50 for a 2lb!! Ok, you might just want to wipe down your computer screen real quick because you’re about to kiss it. I’ve found an affordable ion exchange/hydrolyzed whey protein that actually tastes good, no, scratch that, great. Fortified with glutamine and a vitamin and mineral complex Intek’s Isolate Evolution Protein is, bar none, the best isolate I’ve ever had. As an added bonus it contains way less sodium than any of the other isolates on the market and it comes in a really cool see through green jug! Did you kiss your computer screen yet? Well if that didn’t do it than let’s talk price. A 3lb jug fetches just $39.99…seriously; you can stop kissing your computer screen now.

Intek’s Thermogenic Evolution?? More like Intek’s Where the F#*% Did the Fat Go!!! I’ve used alot of fat burners in my time and this one ranks with the elite. Having gained a solid 15lbs for my strongman competition I figured it was time to get back down to a leaner, healthier bodyweight of 220lbs. I’m sure you can do the math. Gaining 15lbs was fun and quite easy; I just ate more. Dropping 15lbs is another story. Cardio sucks but its a necessary evil and being hungry all the time gets annoying. Intek’s Thermogenic Evolution is the answer to your dieting woes.
I was sent a bottle to try and with like most supplements I was skeptical, until I took my first dose. Holy gratuitous amounts of energy, Batman!! The compound blend Intek uses is specifically formulated to boost energy levels, kill appetite, and even enhance mood. I was zipping through my day and when it was time for my work out I conquered that gym like Conan the Conquerer. And talk about appetite suppression! At 235lbs I am hungry all the time. It takes alot of food for me to maintain that bodyweight. When I’m on Thermogenic Revolution the hunger is crushed. It’s almost like I have to remind myself to eat. It literally took me three weeks to drop that 15lbs. No joke. This is not a fat burner for the faint of heart. This is, however, a fat burner for anyone that wants to drop bodyfat fast.

In a placebo-controlled, double-blind study, elderberry was shown to be effective for treating Influenza B. People using the elderberry extract recovered much faster than those only on a placebo. This is partially due to the fact that Elderberry inhibits neuraminidase, the enzyme used by the virus to spread infection to host cells. A small study published in 2004 showed that 93% of flu patients given the extract were completely symptom-free within two days; those taking a placebo recovered in about six days.
